Geert De Taeye, Photographer, Chicago

Description

This vertical photographic study by Chicago-based photographer Geert De Taeye presents a dense cluster of tropical foliage emerging from deep shadows. The composition centers on a rich variety of broad leaves, including large banana palm fronds and fine-bladed foliage, illuminated with sharp directional light that accentuates their vibrant green tones and intricate textures. Dark, moody undertones frame the vegetation, creating a high-contrast interplay between brightly lit foliage and near-black background shadows. The tight framing draws attention directly to the complex overlapping patterns of the plant life without additional background elements.
