Erika Kamano, London

About

This conceptual portrait photograph by Erika Kamano features a single subject submerged to the chest in a clear natural river. The model wears striking theatrical white face paint with dark eye makeup and has dark, elaborately styled sculptural hair that curls upward in tendrils. A dark fabric accessory wraps around the neck, trailing into the water. Numerous fish swim actively through the shallow water surrounding the subject, creating dynamic movement in the foreground and midground. The natural outdoor setting is captured from a high angle, highlighting the interplay between the human figure and the surrounding aquatic life.
