Dave Hill, Photographer, Los Angeles

Description

This photograph by Dave Hill presents a low-angle perspective of a Black man seated on an outdoor court with painted line markings. He wears a yellow sleeveless jersey, matching shorts, white crew socks, and black-and-yellow sneakers with thick laces. A bright smartphone is held up near the left edge of the frame, catching a sharp lens flare, while teal headphones rest around his neck. The background features chain-link fencing and multi-story residential buildings under a bright daylight sky. The composition emphasizes dynamic foreshortening, placing the foreground sneakers and hand prominently in the frame.
