Dan Tobin Smith, Photographer, New York

Description

This square photographic work by photographer Dan Tobin Smith features a three-dimensional sculptural tableau presented within a square black box frame. The central subjects consist of a green textured figure of an archer drawing a bow and two stylized green textured birds, all rendered with fibrous, plant-like textures. Bright red rigid linear elements intersect across the figures, creating a geometric overlay. The entire sculptural arrangement is set against a deep black background within the square housing, which is mounted on a pale neutral wall. The lighting is direct and even, highlighting the tactile qualities of the green fibrous material and the stark contrast of the red framing lines.
