Dan Goldberg, Photographer, New York

Description

This nighttime editorial photograph by Dan Goldberg captures a traditional street celebration illuminated by fire and ambient string lights. In the foreground, a figure carries a complex, smoking skeletal effigy mounted with pyrotechnics that cast a bright, warm glow. To the left, another person holds up a large, spherical paper lantern decorated with colorful triangular flags and the word MACURICH boldly emblazoned across its surface. Dense smoke and sparks rise from the pyrotechnics, creating a dramatic atmosphere against the dark evening surroundings. The composition uses low-key lighting and deep shadows to emphasize the fiery spectacle and the textured details of the event.
