Ben Stockley, Photographer, London

Description

This intimate close-up portrait, photographed by Ben Stockley in London, captures a smiling Black man in his 20s with a visible expression of joy. The frame is dominated by warm orange and red illumination that highlights the contours of his face, nose, and smiling lips, creating strong directional shadows. A thin wire or strap runs down the right side of his face near his ear. The aesthetic is heavily textured and grainy, with an analogue film quality and low-key lighting that deepens the mood. The background is dark and indistinct, focusing all attention on the expressive facial features and the dramatic lighting.
