Arnaud Montagard, Photographer, Paris

Description

This vertical street photograph by Arnaud Montagard captures a lone figure walking beneath a prominent marquee sign. The subject wears a yellow skirt, a dark top, a hat, and carries a bag while traversing the pavement in Paris. A sharp beam of sunlight cuts through the deep shadows, illuminating the pedestrian and a section of the sidewalk. Above, a dark architectural facade holds a large sign with illuminated red neon lettering spelling CITY and smaller text reading EMBRES 6 JUNE 23. The high-contrast lighting creates dramatic chiaroscuro across the urban environment.
