Anthony Goicolea, Illustrator, New York

Description

An expressive, surreal portrait artwork by New York-based artist Anthony Goicolea depicting a young man balancing a towering stack of white-paged, red-bound hardcover books atop his head. The subject gazes directly forward with a serious, contemplative expression, his facial features illuminated by striking lime-green and warm yellow tones against deep shadows. Visible brushstrokes and gestural marks characterize the rendering of the figure's shirt and textured surface. A dark, painterly reddish-brown background envelops the composition, isolating the subject and the precarious stack of books.
