Alex Lau, Photographer, New York

Description

This vertical food still-life photograph by Alex Lau captures an arrangement of assorted holiday cookies presented in a patterned tin on a brown velvet surface. The composition includes star-shaped biscuits, iced green tree cookies, pink-frosted treats, and jam-filled thumbprint cookies dusted with powdered sugar. Surrounding the central tin are copper cookie cutters, a tall glass of milk, a cup of coffee on a green saucer, and additional cookies placed on small matching plates. Direct overhead lighting casts crisp, long shadows across the textured fabric background, creating a warm, nostalgic mood.
